Student profile

*

What is my student profile?

Your student profile contains the basic information we need to give you access to the HP Learning center classes:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Password

In addition, you'll find a public profile area where you can control the personal information that your instructor and other students can see: your nickname, your city and state, your country of residence, your gender, and a bio, if you wish. All of this information is voluntary, and you control which information is viewable to others.

You must have a valid profile in order to access classes. Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation to review your profile information.

What are public profiles?

Your public profile consists of information that you choose to display about yourself on the Learning Center. If you wish to share information about yourself with your instructor and fellow students, you can choose a nickname and display any or all of the following: city, state, country, gender, company name, and bio, as well as complete courses and course ratings.

To view or change your public profile, click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation, then click Edit my public profile.

To view another student's public profile from a message board or discussion board, simply click their nickname.

My student profile information is incorrect. How do I change it?

To update your profile information, click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation to access the Edit profile page. From this page you can:

  • Click Edit my account settings to access your Subscriber's Choice page, where you can change the information you supply to HP as well as manage your email settings and newsletter and Learning center preferences. You can also change your email, get a password reminder, or change your password.
  • Click Edit my public profile to view or change your public profile information. In this section, you can add the following information and make it visible to others, if you wish: your nickname, city, state, country, gender, company name, and bio.

Follow the instructions on the resulting pages to complete your profile information update.

What are email settings?

Your email settings control whether or not you receive email messages from the HP Learning center. To change your email settings:

  • Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation, then click Edit my account settings to access your Subscriber's Choice page.
  • If you want to start getting emails from the HP Learning center, click View all recommended subscriptions and click HP Learning Center News.
  • If you wish to unsubscribe from HP Learning Center News, click Unsubscribe under My Subscriptions.
  • To change your actual email address, click View/edit profile > Edit my account settings > Change email and follow the instructions.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password at any time. To create a new password for your profile:

  • Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation.
  • Click Edit my account settings to access your Subscriber's Choice page.
  • In the left navigation, click Change password.
  • On the Change Password page, enter your current password into the Current password field.
  • Enter your new password in the New password and Confirm new password fields.
  • Click Submit.

How do I keep track of all my classes? How do I see my completed classes?

Click My classes in the left-hand navigation to access a complete record of your class activities at the HP Learning center, including:

  • Current class sessions: those classes in which you are enrolled that have not yet reached their end date and that still have lessons you have not reviewed.
  • Classes not completed: those classes in which you were enrolled that reached their end date before you reviewed all of the lessons.
  • Completed classes: those classes in which you reviewed all lessons.

Click Lessons to access all of the posted lessons in your current classes. Once a class has ended, you will not be able to go back to complete lessons, assignments, or quizzes.

Click the class transcript link for any past or complete class to review a list of lessons and assignments you completed, as well as the scores for any quizzes you took. Quizzes and assignments that you do not complete will not be included in your transcript.

You can also view your current and completed courses through your student profile. To access your profile, click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation, then click the Classes tab to view your current and completed courses.

What if I've forgotten my password?

For your protection, your password is encrypted in our system. Because it is encrypted, we cannot look up your password information. However, you may follow these steps to have your current password reset to a new password:

  • Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation.
  • Click Edit my account settings to access your Subscriber's Choice page.
  • In the left navigation, click Forgot password.
  • On the Forgot password page, enter your email address and click Submit.
  • Check your email inbox for a message from the HP Learning center with your new password.
  • Use this password and your email address to log into the HP Learning Center classes. This password will be a randomly generated password, so you may want to follow the instructions above to change this new password to one you can more easily remember.
